Residential Asphalt/Shingles

A functional shingle is a 25- or 30-year 3-tab or strip shingle, or a 30-year laminated or architectural shingle. With this shingle, we install the manufacturer's recommended materials and our work qualifies for a 30-year non-prorated material warranty that will pay all labor and material costs with regard to material defects. The enhanced warranty that we include with every job we do is a 15-year workmanship warranty that covers 100% of labor and material for any defects in craftsmanship. This is guaranteed by GAF or CertainTeed (GAF with a Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval) and is between GAF/CertainTeed and the homeowner. GAF also provides a 40-point inspection of your roof after its completion before the warranty is issued.

A more advanced shingle is a 50-year /lifetime laminated or architectural shingle, or heavier asphalt shingles such as the CertainTeed Hatteras, Independence, or the GAF Slateline. With these shingles, we install the manufacturer's recommended materials and our work qualifies for a 50-year non-prorated material warranty that will pay all labor and material for any material defect. The enhanced warranty that we include with every job we do is a 20-year workmanship warranty that covers 100% of labor and material for any defects in craftsmanship. This is guaranteed by GAF or CertainTeed (GAF with a Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval) and is between GAF/CertainTeed and the homeowner. GAF also provides a 40-point inspection of your roof after its completion before the warranty is issued.

The optimum shingles are the super heavy-weights like Grand Manor or Centennial slates. These have a Lifetime material warranty and the aforementioned 20-year workmanship warranty.

Currently, there is some confusion in the roofing marketplace about Builder’s Grade products and Contractor Grade products. Builder’s Grade asphalt shingles, which are a bottom-priced product in the market, are not used/installed by Russell Roofing, as they are thought to be bottom-quality as well. We only use superlative products for our customers.
